Workplace Transport Survey

Vehicle and Pedestrian interaction in the workplace has been a top priority for the Health and Safety Executive in recent years. It is an area where there have been a significant number of serious and fatal injuries and strong action has been taken by the Enforcing Authorities against Employers who have not complied with the law. Moving vehicles are dangerous and it is therefore important that any workplace which has vehicles or transport operating on site has completed a suitable and sufficient workplace transport survey.

Here at First Health and Safety we can help you meet your safety obligations to your own employees and to visitors to your site.  The main requirements of Health and Safety legislation with regard to transport safety are that:

  • The workplace is designed in such a way that pedestrians and vehicles can circulate safely
  • That the traffic routes are of sufficient size and suitable
  • That the traffic routes are suitably indicated.

In order to establish these factors it is necessary to carry out a workplace transport survey.  Our Audit will look at the key areas that affect your site and produce a workplace transport survey report.  This report will be split into separate sections which will identify the main hazards including pedestrian movement and vehicle reversing and suggest practical control measure that can be implemented to reduce the risk of injury.

Our Consultants have wide range of experience in diverse workplaces ranging from schools, construction sites, factories, offices and waste recycling plants.  All our Consultants Chartered members of IOSH (CMIOSH) and will have experience in your sector.
